Why does the inverter display high DC voltage (Error 202)?

Analysis:

Normally, the DC voltage of Growatt single phase inverter could up to 550V, for three-phase inverter, it is 1100V. When the string voltage exceeds this value, the inverter will report that the PV input voltage is too high.

Solution:

Check each string to ensure that the total PVs' open-circuit voltage of the string is lower than the highest value of the inverter. At the same time, the influence of the ambient temperature on the component voltage needs to be considered.

Why does the inverter report "PV insulation resistance is too low (Error 203)"

Analysis:

All of Growatt's on-grid inverters will take the insulation resistance test between panels to ground before starting up. If the positive and negative poles of the string are short-circuited to the ground, it will damage the inverter. Therefore, when the "PV insulation resistance is too low" occurs in the inverter, it needs to be dealt with in time. You can use a multimeter to measure whether the resistance of the positive and negative pairs of the string is lower than 50KΩ. If it is lower, which means that there is leakage in the modified line. Or use a multimeter to measure the voltage of the positive and negative poles of the string to the ground. If it is purely at a certain voltage value, it also means that the line is purely leaking.

Solution:

Check out the string with leakage current and make rectification. If there is no problem with the wiring, consider replacing the inverter.

Why does the inverter report "AC voltage out of range (Error 300)"

Analysis:

All Growatt on-grid inverters are designed in accordance with the local power grid safety requirements, but when the grid fluctuates, the grid voltage will change. At this time, if the voltage is higher than the inverter's working range, the inverter will be disconnected from the grid and prompt "AC voltage out of range". For example, as China CQC certification, the inverter's AC voltage range is 195V-253V; if the grid voltage suddenly exceeds this value, the device will be disconnected from the grid due to excessive voltage.

Solution:

You can widen the voltage range through the inverter setting menu; or use the inverter debugging tool software Shinebus to modify the voltage protection parameters. You can also use the ShinePhone, ShineTools APP or web version ShineServer platform to enter the parameter setting interface to adjust the voltage range of the device.

When the inverter is just installed, it reports "abnormal ground voltage detection (Error 303)"

Analysis:

The fault is mainly because the AC voltage difference between the zero line and the ground line is higher than 20V during the inverter self-check. The main reason is that the N cable on the grid side is connected in a virtual way, or the ground wire is not connected properly.

Solution:

Check whether the wiring is abnormal, and rectify the faulty point. Or use the debugging tool software Shinebus to disable this function.

The inverter reports "AC frequency out of range (Error 304)"

Analysis:

The grid frequency is out of range mainly because the inverter needs to detect the frequency of the grid at all times for phase locking. If the grid suddenly changes, the frequency will fluctuate. At this time, the inverter will disconnect with the grid due to frequency jitter.

Solution:

You can widen the frequency range through the inverter setting menu; or use the inverter debugging tool software Shinebus to modify the frequency protection parameters. You can also use the mobile APP or web version monitoring platform and enter the parameter setting interface to widen the frequency range of the device.

The inverter reports "The output DC component is too high (Error 402)"

Analysis:

Normally, the inverters voltage and current output waveforms are in pure AC form. If the AC waveform is doped with DC waveforms due to device fault, the inverter will report the fault.

Solution:

You can set parameters through the inverter debugging tool software Shinebus to adjust the condition of the DC component; if it still does not work, you need to consider replacing the inverter.

The inverter reports "Relay fault (Error 405)"

Analysis:

The relay fault reported by the inverter is divided into hardware fault and software fault. If the fault is reported after the inverter is connected to AC and DC power, it is generally a hardware problem. If the relay is reported by the inverter after the inverter counts down three times, it is usually a parameter or grid problem, which needs to be dealt with according to the actual situation.

Solution:

If the fault is reported when the power is turned on, it can only be handled by changing the machine. If it is reported after self-inspection 3, you can contact our after-sales staff for communication and processing.

The inverter reports "The temperature is too high (Error 408)"

Analysis:

If the temperature reported by the inverter is too high, it is necessary to check whether the installation location of the inverter is ventilated and whether the fan is rotating normally. If it is not caused by the external factors, please contact our after-sales service, check the log of the inverter, and find the reasons of the high temperature.

Solution:

For external reasons, make appropriate rectifications. If it is an internal reason, please follow the guidelines of our after-sales engineers.

The inverter reports "abnormal bus voltage (Error 409)"

Analysis:

This fault means that the bus capacitor voltage inside the inverter is abnormal, and the positive and negative deviations are too high. When this problem occurs, you need to check whether the string voltage is too high and whether the string is grounded.

Solution

First check whether there is a problem with the wiring, if it caused by the wiring, please rectify and restart the divice. If the wiring is normal and the device still reports the fault, please contact our after-sales staff.

The inverter reports "Internal communication fault (Error 411)"

Analysis

When this fault occurs, it is necessary to check whether it is a new device fault or a fault reported after using for a period of time; general new device faults may be caused by vibration of the machine during transportation, resulting in the looseness of the control board inside the inverter. If it has been used for a period of time, it is possible that the firmware of the control board is missing.

Solution:

For the new device, you can ask a technician to disassemble the machine and check the PCB board inside the inverter to see if there is any abnormality such as looseness. If the fault occured during the using, please contact our after-sales staff.
